Hi everyone! It’s Jocelyn on the blog today.

I’m sharing a card using the Doodle Blooms set:

Flower Thank You
I wanted to share a technique that works for die-cutting as well as those times when you don’t have matching dies: watercoloring over white embossing. I started by stamping the flowers and leaves from Doodle Blooms with Versamark and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.
Next, I fussy cut the flowers and leaves. You could watercolor the flowers first and then fussy cut, but I wanted to have all of the edges colored.

Next, I watercolored the flowers and leaves. With this technique, I made sure to watercolor the entire element, including the border. The watercolored borders make the white embossing pop.  The watercoloring over the white embossing is a little more rustic look, and it hides imperfect fussy cutting. ;) I used a combination of Distress Inks and spray mists to watercolor the flowers.

To finish the card, I blended inks over a stencil for the background and then stamped a sentiment from the Many Thanks set. I also added a couple of Pretty Pink Posh sequins. Here are a couple of close-ups:
