Stamping On Layout. By @paroe Stamps @altenewHi!  I hope you have enjoyed the July Release Blog Hop.  So much inspiration and prizes.  I loved using the Tulip stamp set for the hop, and was also inspired by Therese Calvird’s use of the stem.  Once I started on my layout, her idea was a perfect complement to the design I had started.

Stamping On Layout. By @paroe Stamps @altenewI haven’t scrapbooked food photos in awhile, and this was such a beautiful dinner on our summer cruise.  Notice the vine, flower and tulip on the dinnerware?  I went with that inspiration to start penciling off the top corner of my layout and stamping the outside stamp image of the tulips using Crisp Inks in Caribbean Sky, Warm Sunshine, and Cotton Candy.  After erasing the pencil lines, I added straight stitching for more texture.

Stamping On Layout. By @paroe Stamps @altenewMy latest go-to stamp for titles is the Calligraphy Alpha stamp set.  I used Sapphire Crisp Ink for a nice bright and colorful pop of color against the soft background.  For the bottom corner of my layout, I used Therese’s idea of using the stem to create a pattern.  Then I noticed the flourish from the Calligraphy Alpha set was very close to the artwork on the dinnerware.  This is where my layout went all wrong.  I stamped too many and made the bottom too heavy compared to the soft and light top with the tulips.  For the stems and flourishes I used Crisp Inks in Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades.

Stamping On Layout. By @paroe Stamps @altenewI still loved the overall design, so I worked with my overstamping to make this layout still come together by using pieces of pattern paper, matting the large photo in the Navy Cardstock, moving it to the bottom, and clustering the smaller photos at the top.  Now I still see the flourishes peak through, but just enough.

Stamping On Layout. By @paroe Stamps @altenewThen I finished the layout off with some embellishments for added color and texture.  I know so many people love to take photos of their food, and I hope this inspires you to scrapbook them!  Especially when it is a special or beautiful meal you want to remember.

I have a video here showing how this layout came together.  Hope you enjoy!  Thank you for watching!
