Hi friends. Svitlana is here. You most likely already know that Altenew has released New Day Card Kit. You could see many amazing cards during our April Release Blog Hop. Which by the way is still live so you can win a prize by leaving a comment.

Today I want to share three more cards made using products from this kit.

As I used pattern paper sheet for all of them I save my time on making my own. And matching embellishments in the kits added to the fact that these were very quick and easy to make.

I’m a very slow cardmaker. It takes me significant amount of time to make a card. Plus I’m an ultimate champion in spoiling a card when it’s almost done so I need to start from the beginning.

Moreover I have limited time for cardmaking. With 3 hrs of exhausting commute each day (the price you pay for living in the city) I rare can do anything during the week. Basically the only time I have for creation are weekends.

But these cards… I made them one day in the morning when was getting ready for work (like I was having breakfast with one hand, putting on make up with the second, and making card with the third haha). Still cannot believe it took me so little time to make 3 (!!!!) pretty cards.

Of course we all love good stamping, techniques or hours of coloring. But sometimes we just need a card. Or have little time and want to make something. The card kit is a great option in such cases. Not speaking of fun supplies included in it. My favorite are the frame die, wood veneer frames and matt finish enamel dots (I never saw matt dots before).

Ok, back to the cards.

For the first one I cut a scored a card base out of mint cardstock included in the kit and adhered a panel cut out of pattern paper with beautiful botanical design. For the sentiment I used puffy stickers. So quick and easy.

The second card is very easy as well. I cut out a panel from the pattern paper with watercolor design and adhered it onto a white card base.

Then I cut a couple of rose clusters out of another sheet of pattern paper. I grabbed a tag and sentiment label die cut from the kit and assembled a cluster to the right in the middle part of the card.

The third is a little (just a bit, remember I was making all of them with my third hand) time consuming. It’s my favorite one. Which is totally inspired by Laura Bassen. I’m in love with her style and ability to tame a rainbow.

First I cut a panel out of a pattern paper with watercolor strokes design. And adhered it onto a card base.

Next I took a wood veneer frame and colored it using Dye Crisp Inks and trying to replicate colors and stripe widths of the designer paper. I used Caramel Toffee, Warm Sunshine, Evergreen, Lagoon and Dusk Dye Inks and applied them using ink dauber. Then I adhered the wood veneer onto the card (it’s sticky back by the way, I didn’t use any adhesive) and added a sentiment label die cut.

Lastly I added enamel dots of matching colors around the wood veneer. I just love how this card turned out.

Have a wonderful day!
