Hello Altenew fans. Today I’ll be sharing a layout I created using the Reflection Scrapbook Collection . Layers are a really fun way to use lots of designs and colors but at the same time you can still keep the overall design simple.
On this layout I wanted the photo to be the main focal point. I created flow and added detail using Altenew stickers and embellishments which are all available in the kit but you can also buy them separately in the store. The 6*6 paper pad doesn’t come in our full collection pack but can be found in the New Day card kit.
To create flow I used the Warm Sunshine Shimmer Spray Ink which has a gold finish to it. It draws the eye from the bottom left hand corner to the upper right hand corner and guides the eye over the photo. This in turn helps the photo stand out.
Some wood veneer birds create a visual triangle that will draw the eye towards the quote. I also added a hand drawn arrow and a date stamp using the Altenew roller stamp (which comes in the Reflection collection kit).
You can watch the process video in HD on YouTube or just watch it below to see how the layout came together.
I did have to play around with different elements for a while until I found a placement which I liked.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Happy scrapping and see you soon.
Hello everyone. It’s Lilith with a new layout its accompanying video featuring the Label Love (French) Stamp set from Altenew.
My mother tongue is English but I live in the French speaking part of Belgium and even though I use English on most of my pages I do like to add some French to them. My children understand English but they love to see their mother tongue on the layouts too. I love that Altenew has the Label Love stamps in different languages.
To stamps the lablels I used permanent black ink from Altenew and then I cut them out. I kept the layout simple and just added a couple of embellishments from the Reflection Scrapbook collection.
Drawing on a couple of arrows is a nice way of adding movement and flow to a layout. I complemented the arrows from the Reflection Collection by adding a couple of doodled arrows. To finish I used some Frayed Leaf Shimmer spray ink and just added a couple of splatters. This adds a splash of color also enhances the flow, guiding the eyes towards the photo.
You can watch the process video here below or in HD on YouTube here.
You can find all our Label Love stamp sets in the store here. (Click on here)
Have a wonderful day.
Hello, Altenew fans and welcome to the second Altenew Sketch challenge. The sketch and the color combination is based on one of my previous layouts which you can find here. Here is a look at the layout.
For the layout above I started by cutting out a heart. I then used a fun watercolor technique using the Altenew inks on some watercolor paper. I then stamped the flowers onto the paper and cut them out. You can see the process in the post here.
On my new layout, I thought it would nice to keep it simple so I really stayed very close to the sketch and color scheme. I drew a doodled circle and added my three clusters of flowers and my photo. Here is what I came up with.
I went with the same type of embellishments and added some gold touches with the gold glitter tape.
For leaves, I used the Freeform Greenery stamp set and Tropical Forest mini cube ink set. They break up the dominant red color in the flowers which I cut out of a patterned paper from the Reflection Scrapbook collection.
Tiny details like a stamp from the LABEL LOVE (FRENCH) stamp set and a couple of ink splatters with the Frayed Leaf Glimmer Metallic Shimmer Ink spray finish off the layout.
You can see how the layout came together on YouTube in HD or here below. I hope the old and new layout as well as the sketch inspire you.

Hello Altenew fans. With all the new products coming out especially the Spray inks I was tempted to create an art journal page. I used to make them quite often a couple of years back and then I slowly stopped as I was making more and more layouts. I though it would be nice to play with the Altenew products and create an art journal page. All the techniques used on this page can be used on a card or a layout. Just let the products inspire you.
If you’d like to create an art journal page I advise you to use good quality paper especially if you’re working with a lot of water. Here are the supplies I used on this page:
The Lagoon ink came in handy to add detail using the Tiny Bubbles stencil which I also used to add some white bubbles in acrylic paint. (Don’t forget to clean the stencil quickly afterwards as the paint can dry fast and it will be harder to get it off once dry).
For the full process just watch the video in HD on YouTube or watch it below:
The most important thing is just go for it and have fun. Be creative with your supplies and play around with them. There are so many possibilities.
Have a lovely day.
Hello and welcome back to another blog post filled with inspiration. Today I’ll be sharing a layout which is once again really simple to create but at the same time has lots of lovely little details. What I really love about the Altenew scrapbook collection is that it is so versatile but there is also a travel theme to it. This means it is a great collection to use for documenting trips and journeys.
How to create the layout:
- Cut out a world map using a die cut machine but you could use any shape and make it on a smaller scale.
- Place a patterned paper of your choice beneath the die cut.
- Add some splatters with our Ink Sprays.
- Create a diagonal design by placing your photo in one corner and working your way up to the title.
- Use embellishments to create a “path” or “flow” from the photo to the title.
To create the title I cut out words using the following set:
For detail and contrast I colored the world die cut with some spray ink just using a paint brush. I tried to create a watercolor effect.
You can watch the process video below or on in HD on YouTube.
Thank you so much for stopping by and happy scrapping.
Hi there everyone. It’s Lilith with a new layout video featuring several stamp sets as well as a couple of the Altenew inks. A couple of weeks ago I held a Facebook live and talked about background. There are several ways to use the Altenew products to create backgrounds and one of them is to use your stamps.
To create the background I started stamping the colored images onto some Spicy yogurt cardstock. Then I stamped my text images over the colored images to create the background.
I opted to use some die cuts and wood buttons from the Reflection scrapbook collection. These are now available separately in bundles in our shop. You can see all the products in our scrapbook collection HERE.
You can watch the full process video in HD on our YouTube channel here or just watch it below.
The Label Love Stamp Set comes in different languages. The following languages are available in our store:
The black that I used for the text is the permanent black ink from the Green Fields with permanent black ink mini cube set. It stamps so smoothly and is my all time favorite.
Have a wonderful Sunday and happy scrapping.
Hello Altenew fans. It’s Lilith with a new video and layout showcasing some of the new products from the January 2017 release. It is a soft and airy layout with very little embellishments.
I used two stamp sets for this layout: A Splash of Color Stamp Set and Faithful feather Stamp Set. As far as the colors are concerned I decided to go with soft tones and chose three pastel colors namely: Mountain Mist, Rose quartz (which is my new favorite) and Soft Lilac .
To create the layout I first stamped the ink splashes in the three different colors. The layout has a vertical design and stamped the images more to the left leaving more white space to the right to have a spot for the photo. The white space will also enable the photo to stand out.
I layered the splashes ever so slightly and then stamped over the colors with the outlined feather stamp from the Faithful Feather stamp set. I used the Lava Rock ink from the Warm Grey mini cube set for the feathers and the title/journaling.
I then added my photo and some white confetti to incorporate detail. After some thought I matted my photo onto some patterned paper from the Reflection Scrapbook collection so that it would pop off the layout a bit more.

Thank you for stopping by and happy scrapping.
Hello, it’s Lilith once again with a new layout and process video. For today’s post I decided to work with the Adore You Stamp Set and to use a “watercolor technique”.
I started by taking some white watercolor paper and added some water too it. Then I took an acrylic block and applied some ink to it. I used the new Warm & Cozy Crisp Inks.
For the background I picked one of the patterned papers from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection. To tone it down I drew half a heart onto some white cardstock and cut it out with a craft knife. I then mirrored the image to create a heart. I distressed the edges a bit to add texture and detail.
Once the watercolor paper was dry I fussy cut out the flowers with my scissors, but you could use the Adore You Coordinating Die Set if you have it .
The two design principles which I use almost all the time is the rule of three and the visual triangle. I placed three clusters of flowers over the layout in a triangle. This creates flow, balance and guides the eye over all parts of the design.
A couple of gold touches finish off the layout, as do some ink splashes. To create the gold dots I simply took some gold glitter tape from Altenew and placed it onto some paper and then I punched out a couple of tiny circles.

Hello Altenew fans and welcome back to a new video from me, Lilith. Today I’ll be showing you how to create a layout using 2 patterned papers from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection with some stamps, dies, inks and markers from Altenew. If you have the collection you will know you get a lot of product but at some point your favourite embellishments start to diminish. An easy way to counter this problem is to create your own.
On this layout I used the Botanical Garden Stamp Set and Coordinating Die Set set as well as the Say Cheese Stamp Set and Coordinating Die.
The Altenew Markers are great for coloring in images as I did with the butterflies. Pop them onto a peg and create a fun detachable embellishment that you can add to any project. I added to my homemade tags. These are also really easy to make and the options are endless.
You can also create your own little paper dots by coloring some cardstock and cutting out circles with a punch or die. Add a couple of small dots with a pen pen and create little buttons.
