A Splash of Color
Hello, everyone! Sveta is here, and I’m so excited to host this month Inspiration challenge!
I took this photo during my last vacation in Egypt. My friend is holding plumeria flowers in her hands, and I just adore this flower and its scent. There are a lot of them in tropical countries such as Thailand and a rare thing for Egypt, so I was very happy to find it in our hotel.
I’m sure you will find a lot of inspiring elements on this photo. My inspiration was in the background bokeh and the yellow flower itself.
I wanted to use colors from the inspiration scheme, so I choose following Crisp Dye inks: Glacier Caves Oval Set: Sapphire, Persian Blue, Caribbean Sky, Arctic; Sea Shore Oval Set: Emerald, Lagoon, Volcano Lake, Mountain Mist.
I started with the lightest colors and filled the background ending darkest ones. This background reminded me of a tropical greenery when you head up to look at the sky through the leaves.
I made my yellow flowers using Adore You Stamp Set, watercolor paper, watercolor brush pens, and glitter. Finding the best position for such flowery is always a battle for me and takes the most time. But it is also the most relaxing process.
The sentiment I choose is also from Adore You Stamp Set, and I think it expresses such a bright, juicy and I’d say life-loving card in the most right way. I heat embossed it with a white fine embossing powder on a deep-blue cardstock.

Hello Altenew fans. It’s Lilith with a new video and layout showcasing some of the new products from the January 2017 release. It is a soft and airy layout with very little embellishments.
I used two stamp sets for this layout: A Splash of Color Stamp Set and Faithful feather Stamp Set. As far as the colors are concerned I decided to go with soft tones and chose three pastel colors namely: Mountain Mist, Rose quartz (which is my new favorite) and Soft Lilac .
To create the layout I first stamped the ink splashes in the three different colors. The layout has a vertical design and stamped the images more to the left leaving more white space to the right to have a spot for the photo. The white space will also enable the photo to stand out.
I layered the splashes ever so slightly and then stamped over the colors with the outlined feather stamp from the Faithful Feather stamp set. I used the Lava Rock ink from the Warm Grey mini cube set for the feathers and the title/journaling.
I then added my photo and some white confetti to incorporate detail. After some thought I matted my photo onto some patterned paper from the Reflection Scrapbook collection so that it would pop off the layout a bit more.
You can see how the layout came together in HD on You Tube or below:
Thank you for stopping by and happy scrapping.
Hi it’s Therese and today we are focusing on the Be Strong Stamp Set. This set is so much fun, it’s full of great images and positive encouraging sentiments that could be used for so many different occasions.
For my first design I decided to focus on one small image from the stamp set and colour a repeated pattern, so I could then die cut some big Bold Alphabet Dies to spell out the word ‘party’.
For the background I stamped A Splash of Color Stamp Set with Sea Glass Crisp Dye Ink. I then popped up the letters on fun foam onto the front of the card. To add the remaining portion of the sentiment I used the mini stamp set called Celebrate Stamp Set.
My second card was also quite simple. I stamped the string of lights and the two potted cactus images and coloured them. Using the Altenew Artist Markers and Copic markers which worked beautifully together.
I did some masking and then blended the background with Altenew Crisp dye Inks (Limestone / Sunkissed / Buttercream / Blush). Then I stamped, heat embossed and die cut my own Faux Veneer sentiment speech bubble.
For my final design I masked off some cactus images to group them together in the centre of a panel. To add ‘A Splash of Color‘ I stamped over the images with some Crisp Dye Inks Bamboo / Parrot / Olive / Sunkissed / Orange Cream and Ocean Waves.
The sentiment is white heat embossed on some Altenew Jet Black Cardstock. And then for fun I added some black licorice sprinkles.
You can see my video here or head over and Watch it in HD at Youtube.
I hope you enjoyed seeing the cards that I created today with the Be Strong Stamp Set. I know that I enjoyed making them!
Have a great and crafty day,
