Hi it’s Therese and today I created a 3D Shaker Sentiment Card.
For today’s project I used my Copic markers to add colour to a Bunny Love image and the Beautiful You background. Then I stamped the sentiment from Way Too Sweet twice onto some acetate and layered this to make a shaker die cut from the matching die set.
I filmed so I could share the process with you
You can see my video here or Watch it in HD at Youtube.
Thanks so much for your visit today!
And we are back to baby layouts again. I just can’t help myself. So for today’s layout I decided to focus on the Beautiful You Stamp Set. I wanted to use the craft themed stamps to make a layout about the best thing I ever ‘made’.
To start of with I took a piece of Solar White Cardstock and used the Scissor stamp to stamp a pattern background using the Blush Ink. Then on another piece of Cardstock, I stamped out my elements (Title, Bobbin and Clothes Tag). I traced a shipping tag over the top of my title so I would have a guide where to cut and watercolor. Then out came the paint.
Once painted and dried, I fussy cut them all out and began to create my clusters – starting with the one to go under my title tag.
I used the bobbin to create a cluster at the bottom of the page. Then I added the clothes tag to the photo cluster. I sewed down the tag along the stitch line.
I like that it adds dimension, but best of all it’s a great place for hidden journaling.
I couldn’t very well do a crafty layout without running it though the sewing machine a few times and that pretty much wraps it up for this month. I’ll see you all next month.
You know what’s awesome? Ink Pads. You thought I was going to say stamps didn’t you? Well this is a stamp company blog and Altenew does make pretty awesome stamps, but today I’m crushing on ink pads and their truely stella uses. See here’s the thing, unlike your run-of-the-mill cardmakers and scrapbookers I loath theme papers. Christmas collections tie my stomach in knots, I don’t think I’ve bought a birthday collection and as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, I have never even seen a Saint Patrick’s Day Paper. Which is kinda really weird as I LOVE Saint Patrick’s Day. Just let me show you…
Ohh look at my bubba. This was Eva’s first Saint Patrick’s Day. Eva was actually named after my nana, who was a nun and a nurse from Ireland (Saint Patrick’s homeland). It’s an amazing story, but too long for here or to be written on a page. So I put a whole page of typed journaling on the back of the layout.
The color palette was derived from the Amy Tangerine Plaid paper, but you’ve seen enough of my layouts now to know that I don’t do full page pattern paper layouts. I also had this XO cut file I wanted to use. That’s when inspiration struck – I’d make my own pattern paper to back the cut!
I used a textured white cardstock and turned the Buttercream, Forest Glades and Desert Nights ink pads upside down and stamped in a random pattern. Admittedly I could have used the Warm Sunshine instead of the Buttercream, it was a better match for the plaid, but when I tried it on my scratch paper it really took over. How fantastic does it look though?
I used the ‘Picture Perfect’ stamp from the Say Cheese stamp set as my only journaling on the front because frankly it sums it up perfectly to me. A few more stray vines and a scattering of puffy stickers and it’s done!
I’m pretty chuffed at how this one came out, if I do say so myself. And there isn’t even a Kelly Green Shamrock in sight *wink, wink*.
Orange, yellow, and brown create such a perfect color combo for me. It’s perfect for another Father themed layout of my hubby and my son. This time I have a photo of him taking care of my son and sleeping together. It is such a magical and beautiful everyday moment for me.
To make the photo look classy but still pretty with a boy theme, I chose some Crisp Dye Inks: Paper Bag, Caramel Toffee and Butter Cream which are perfect for my color combo and the Beautiful You Stamp. I chose to give some leaves a pattern behind the photo, so it will pop up on the photo very well. I stamped it around the photo randomly so it could have 3 colors of orange and yellow.
I used the Label Love stamp set’s ” U rock” sentiment as my small tittle greeting in this layout. I also mixed it with another alpha and cork sticker.
On the right side of the layout, I wrote down what I felt about this photo. My small hand writing was perfect with the ‘Beautiful You’ sentiment from the Beautiful You Stamp Set. I pasted the word using the Moon Rock Ink after my hand writing, as a second tittle in this layout. I am in love with the stamp, it looks like I did it by myself instead of using the stamp. I also used gold washi tape by Altenew in this layout. The gold washi is perfect as a final touch.
This is my ‘Super Dad’ layout!
Don’t be scare to create a boy or father themed layout with floral stamps. You can make your layout look elegant with them as well.
Birthday is one of my favorite moment in our life that we should cherish! This time I created birthday layout of my son using 3 stamps, yup 3! They are: Beautiful You, Say Cheese, and Label Love. I also used 3 colors of Crisp Inks: Caramel Toffee, Moon Rock, and Morning Frost.
I mix 3 stamps and I created some embellishments for the layout. I use ‘Enjoy the little things‘ from the Beautiful You stamp set and ‘Happy Birthday and Love U’ from the Label Love stamp set. I mixed gray (Moon Rock) with orange (Caramel Toffee) into one layout. The colors perfectly match with my color combo.
I used ‘Picture Perfect’ from the Say Cheese stamp set and stamped it a few on the right and on the left corner of the layout. I used the Moon Rock ink to make it bold, then blended with my messy DIY frame using gel pen.
The Beautiful You stamp set is actually about Spring, they have cute spring images but I used some leaves to make soft patterns on the white background. I stamped it using the Morning Frost Ink behind the Hello Cork Stickers.
I also stamped the scissors from the stamp set using the Caramel Toffee as embellishment. I used pop up tape to make it dimensional. Cute, right? And this is the final version of the birthday scrapbook layout using 3 different stamps sets with different themes.
