Hello, Altenew fans and welcome to the second Altenew Sketch challenge. The sketch and the color combination is based on one of my previous layouts which you can find here. Here is a look at the layout.
For the layout above I started by cutting out a heart. I then used a fun watercolor technique using the Altenew inks on some watercolor paper. I then stamped the flowers onto the paper and cut them out. You can see the process in the post here.
On my new layout, I thought it would nice to keep it simple so I really stayed very close to the sketch and color scheme. I drew a doodled circle and added my three clusters of flowers and my photo. Here is what I came up with.
I went with the same type of embellishments and added some gold touches with the gold glitter tape.
For leaves, I used the Freeform Greenery stamp set and Tropical Forest mini cube ink set. They break up the dominant red color in the flowers which I cut out of a patterned paper from the Reflection Scrapbook collection.
Tiny details like a stamp from the LABEL LOVE (FRENCH) stamp set and a couple of ink splatters with the Frayed Leaf Glimmer Metallic Shimmer Ink spray finish off the layout.
You can see how the layout came together on YouTube in HD or here below. I hope the old and new layout as well as the sketch inspire you.

Hey friends! Hope you guys are doing well. I have a jewel toned, watercolour card to share with you using Peony Bouquet Stamp Set.
The April Altenew Inspiration Challenge colours are just SO gorgeous I couldn’t stop myself from playing with them and hopefully inspire you in the process.
For my card front I used Woodgrain Powder cardstock to which I added black paint splatters for a bit of interest.
I stamped the flowers from the Peony Bouquet Stamp Set with watermark ink and heat embossed them in gold. To get this toned watercolor effect, I added plenty of water to the image. After that I started to drop some watercolour to the wet area without giving it much thought if the colours are mixing. The photos don’t do justice to the gorgeous mix of colours I ended up with.
After fussy cutting out all the images I moved on over to the frame.
This gorgeous ornate frame is from the newly released New Day Card Kit. Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE everything in this kit including the die!
After I arranged all the flowers, I just knew the sentiment HAS to be one from the Label Love stamp set.
I chose to go with “celebrate” since this works for every occasion! I added a few gold sequins and a strip of Gold Glitter Tape to one side to complete the look.
That is all friends! I hope you like the card. It was super quick, except for the fussy cutting of course but everything else came together rather quickly. Actually I keep a stash of heat embossed or plain stamped images in a box and the card making process becomes a little quicker because of that.
Hope you were inspired today!
love and hugs,
Hello everyone, hope you guys are doing good! It’s Erum here today with some pencil colouring. For my card today I used Magnolias for Her Stamp Set one of my very favourite stamp sets. I thought I’d start off with a closeup.
Here is the complete look.
The flowers in Magnolias for Her Stamp Set set are so beautiful with such thin and dainty lines that they always give your project a very delicate look. But for my card I used these flowers in a completely opposite manner and coloured the petals in a way that the flowers look like succulents; fleshy and thick.
For my background, I started watercolouring using a mixture of crisp inks; Bamboo and Parrot. After the background was dry I added partial stenciling using the new Halftone Stencil and a mix of crisp inks (Ocean Waves and Lagoon). I then added some black splatters to match my black and white watercolour stripes base (which I made myself).
After I was done colouring, I fussy cut the images. To add some interest, I added a bit of silver string as a base for my floral arrangement and popped the flowers on different levels and pinched my leaves to add to the dimension.
The greeting is from Label Love stamp set which is stamped in black to gel everything together. In the end I added a few sequins for some sparkle.
I hope you liked my card. Pencil colouring images always take a while but the end result is so worth it.
Alright friends, that is all from my side today. See you tomorrow for something exciting and of course beautiful! *wink wink*
hugs and love,

Hello! It’s Marika here today to have fun with the Earth Tones Set of Chameleon Pens. Aren’t these pens a lot of fun? I tried no-line coloring technique and added details with my pencils. I love this technique and I usually combine other alcohol markers but this technique worked so well with these pens as well.
First, I stamped the flower images from Bamboo Rose set with Altenew Blush Crisp Ink onto a smooth card stock. Then I added my base layer with Chameleon pens: I used BR2 (Hot Cocoa) for the flower and OL3 (Olive Green) for the leaves. I used the lightest tones from each color and left the lightest areas to be almost white.
Then I added details with my pencils. For the background, I stamped a few flowers from Bamboo Rose set with the same Altenew Blush Crisp Ink. I added a few sequins and used Label Love set to add my sentiment.
I wish you the most beautiful day! Enjoy!
Hi everyone! Svitlana is here today. Happy Labor Day to those US-located. Hope you’re enjoying the last summer, a long weekend with your families and friends.
I want to share a card using two of my favorite stamp sets – Dahlia Blossoms and Spring Daisy. Once I saw wedding bouquets and floral arrangements using dahlia and sunflowers, I thought that was a great idea. So, I decided to try it on a card.
First I stamped the dahlias using the Dusk and Desert Night inks and die cut them using the matching dies. Next, I stamped daisies using the Mango Smoothie, Warm Sunshine, and Dark Chocolate inks, so they looked like sunflowers and die-cut them using the matching dies as well.
And I also stamped and die cut leaves from both stamp sets using the Forest Glades and Evergreen inks.
I arranged my bouquet by adhering flowers and leaves on a card base I made out of Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. Some of them I was adhering flat, some I used dimensional adhesive squares.
To finish off my card I stamped and cut out the sentiment using the Label Love stamp set and Dark Chocolate ink. I adhered it to on the floral arrangements, followed by adding several clear droplets of different sizes.
Have a great day!
Hello everyone and happy Sunday! I do hope you are all having a great weekend and are having lots of fun.
Today I’m sharing a card made with some beautiful Altenew products. I have to say that Beautiful Day is a huge favourite of mine and it had been a while since I had inked it up so I thought day would be a good day.
I started by stamping the outline images onto watercolour card and then heat embossing in gold. I loosely watercoloured the images using Distress Ink and water, to do this I added clean water to the images and then dropped in colour to the areas that I felt would have more shade using a paint brush. The water helps the ink to blend and bleed giving a awesome shading effect- Altenew Crisp inks can also be used for this technique. Once the watercolour was dry I cut the images out using the coordinating die set.
Although I wanted the card to have a clean look I also wanted something in the background- so for my background I embossed the Dodec Cover Die into a piece of white card. To emboss rather than cut the die I ran it though my die-cutting machine using an embossing mat. The embossing mat is like a piece of rubber, as the rubber has a bit of ‘give’ it doesn’t give the machine enough pressure to cut so embosses the image instead.
To put the card together I attached the embossed piece to the card blank. I then added a strip of white card to break up the background and to have somewhere for my sentiment to sit. I added the watercoloured flower images into place and then added a sentiment from Label Love on top.
Thank you so much for stopping by today I really do hope you enjoyed your visit!
Hope you have a beautiful day and I hope to see you again soon!
Hugs Lydia xxx
Orange, yellow, and brown create such a perfect color combo for me. It’s perfect for another Father themed layout of my hubby and my son. This time I have a photo of him taking care of my son and sleeping together. It is such a magical and beautiful everyday moment for me.
To make the photo look classy but still pretty with a boy theme, I chose some Crisp Dye Inks: Paper Bag, Caramel Toffee and Butter Cream which are perfect for my color combo and the Beautiful You Stamp. I chose to give some leaves a pattern behind the photo, so it will pop up on the photo very well. I stamped it around the photo randomly so it could have 3 colors of orange and yellow.
I used the Label Love stamp set’s ” U rock” sentiment as my small tittle greeting in this layout. I also mixed it with another alpha and cork sticker.
On the right side of the layout, I wrote down what I felt about this photo. My small hand writing was perfect with the ‘Beautiful You’ sentiment from the Beautiful You Stamp Set. I pasted the word using the Moon Rock Ink after my hand writing, as a second tittle in this layout. I am in love with the stamp, it looks like I did it by myself instead of using the stamp. I also used gold washi tape by Altenew in this layout. The gold washi is perfect as a final touch.
This is my ‘Super Dad’ layout!
Don’t be scare to create a boy or father themed layout with floral stamps. You can make your layout look elegant with them as well.
Birthday is one of my favorite moment in our life that we should cherish! This time I created birthday layout of my son using 3 stamps, yup 3! They are: Beautiful You, Say Cheese, and Label Love. I also used 3 colors of Crisp Inks: Caramel Toffee, Moon Rock, and Morning Frost.
I mix 3 stamps and I created some embellishments for the layout. I use ‘Enjoy the little things‘ from the Beautiful You stamp set and ‘Happy Birthday and Love U’ from the Label Love stamp set. I mixed gray (Moon Rock) with orange (Caramel Toffee) into one layout. The colors perfectly match with my color combo.
I used ‘Picture Perfect’ from the Say Cheese stamp set and stamped it a few on the right and on the left corner of the layout. I used the Moon Rock ink to make it bold, then blended with my messy DIY frame using gel pen.
The Beautiful You stamp set is actually about Spring, they have cute spring images but I used some leaves to make soft patterns on the white background. I stamped it using the Morning Frost Ink behind the Hello Cork Stickers.
I also stamped the scissors from the stamp set using the Caramel Toffee as embellishment. I used pop up tape to make it dimensional. Cute, right? And this is the final version of the birthday scrapbook layout using 3 different stamps sets with different themes.
Svitlana is here today sharing two very different cards. They’re different in the final look, color palettes and techniques used.
First I cut a panel from yellow cardstock, cut a branch out of it and then started cutting out different flowers (I used only smaller ones from the set). Then I cut a branch from gray cardstock and the same flowers from white cardstock. I double-cut the branch and some flowers in the areas where they overlap (which is hard to explain so maybe I will film a video showing this technique, so stay tuned).
Then I adhered the panel to a gray card base and adhered all die-cuts in their negative space. Added stamping to the flowers using Altenew Jet Black ink. These flowers are multi-layered, but I only used one layer. To finish off the card I added a sentiment from Label Love set and several sequins.
The next card is made in chalkboard technique. It was very trendy in crafting world a couple years ago and is still trendy in decor. I personally believe that chalkboard is one of those trends that just became classic and is always trendy. And I personally have a weakness when it comes to chalkboard :)
To make this card on a black card base I stamped succulents from Altenew Succulents stamps set and a sentiment from Beautiful Day using white pigment ink . Then I started coloring the succulents. I first was covering parts of an image with white pigment ink using Fantastix tool.
I drew a surface under the pots and added chalk effect by rubbing the card with a paper towel inked with white ink.
Hope you liked my cards. Have a great day!
