Reflection Scrapbook Collection
Here in Australia, Autumn has just began cover us in a blanket of golden leaves. The nights are seem so much longer and I find myself shopping for cosy winter boots. It’s not so much that I like shopping for shoes, but rather I’m currently 4 months pregnant with our second child and my feet have already began to swell. More
Hi Ladies! Do you know Altenew is running the Sketch Challenge #2? I love to use sketches for my projects, so I had to try this new one. It’s so fun and easy! I encourage you to use it for your next card or scrapbook page. You have still time as the challenge ends on Sunday, June 18th at 11:55 pm EDT. Here is my take one the Altenew Sketch Challenge #2:
In case you don’t know the sketch, I paste it here. Hop to the original post the read all the rules.
For my layout I used the Altenew Reflection collection. I chose the green striped paper as my base and cut out a heart from the middle. Then, I backed it with white cardstock. I fixed the heart with zig-zag machine stitching. This also gave some extra texture to the project. Then, I filled up the empty heart with different embellishments. I used Epoxy Buttons & Wood Veneers, Chipboard Stickers and Enamel Dots from New Day Card Kit.
The flowers were fussy cut from one of the watercolored paper from Reflection Collection Paper Pack. They look pretty cool as die cuts. For the title I added one of the Acetate Die Cut and Puffy Alphabet Stickers. As always, I finished off my page with stamping the date with Roller Date Stamp.
I hope you like the result. I think it turn out pretty. Thanks for stopping by! Flóra
Hello Altenew fans. Today I’ll be sharing a layout I created using the Reflection Scrapbook Collection . Layers are a really fun way to use lots of designs and colors but at the same time you can still keep the overall design simple.
On this layout I wanted the photo to be the main focal point. I created flow and added detail using Altenew stickers and embellishments which are all available in the kit but you can also buy them separately in the store. The 6*6 paper pad doesn’t come in our full collection pack but can be found in the New Day card kit.
To create flow I used the Warm Sunshine Shimmer Spray Ink which has a gold finish to it. It draws the eye from the bottom left hand corner to the upper right hand corner and guides the eye over the photo. This in turn helps the photo stand out.
Some wood veneer birds create a visual triangle that will draw the eye towards the quote. I also added a hand drawn arrow and a date stamp using the Altenew roller stamp (which comes in the Reflection collection kit).
You can watch the process video in HD on YouTube or just watch it below to see how the layout came together.
I did have to play around with different elements for a while until I found a placement which I liked.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Happy scrapping and see you soon.
Hi Ladies! It’s Flóra here today sharing a new 12×12 scrapbook layout. For this project I used Altenew Relfection collection and New Day Card Kit. First, I decided the colors for my layout and chose the pretty watercolor papers (pink, yellow, black & white). Then, I cut out a zig-zag background pattern with Silhouette Cameo cutting machine.
I cut out the pattern from a white cardstock, so the colors can pop out. I backed the arrows, this took some time, but worth every moment. Once my base was ready I fussy cut those gorgeous blue butterflies and flower from one of the paper from Reflection Paper Pack. I adhered them with foam tape to give dimensions. I placed my photo and started to decorate my layout.
The title was created with Altenew Reflection Puffy Alphabet and Acetate Die Cut. I love the bold black result, it gives awesome contrast to the page. One of my favorite embellishments are colorful enamel dots. I am so happy to get some with Altenew New Day Card Kit. Their colors are just stunning. In the end I stamped the date on the top right corner with Altenew Roller Stamp.
I hope you like my latest project. I love the bright and happy colors. Thanks for stopping by today! Flóra
Hello everyone. It’s Lilith with a new layout its accompanying video featuring the Label Love (French) Stamp set from Altenew.
My mother tongue is English but I live in the French speaking part of Belgium and even though I use English on most of my pages I do like to add some French to them. My children understand English but they love to see their mother tongue on the layouts too. I love that Altenew has the Label Love stamps in different languages.
To stamps the lablels I used permanent black ink from Altenew and then I cut them out. I kept the layout simple and just added a couple of embellishments from the Reflection Scrapbook collection.
Drawing on a couple of arrows is a nice way of adding movement and flow to a layout. I complemented the arrows from the Reflection Collection by adding a couple of doodled arrows. To finish I used some Frayed Leaf Shimmer spray ink and just added a couple of splatters. This adds a splash of color also enhances the flow, guiding the eyes towards the photo.
You can watch the process video here below or in HD on YouTube here.

Have a wonderful day.
I have been a little out of the swing of things lately, when it comes to my scrapping. Do card maker’s have the same problem? Sometimes you just aren’t in the right creative head space and all that comes out is just…blah. I find in times such as these, the best thing you can do is return to the basics. For me that’s a photo, papers and embellishments that mean something. That’s exactly how this monochrome beauty came be.
You have seen my use this the red/pink watercolour paper so many times before. It is without a doubt my favourite paper in the Reflection Scrapbook Collection. I did however take advantage of the new 6×6 paper pad to make a pretty little boarder with the rose paper.
I used embellishments from both the Refection Collection and the New Day Card Kit to add a little more dimension to my layout. The wooden buttons and geometric veneers work so well together, in my opinion.
I did, however use a few buttons from my stash. It’s a bit of an inside joke really. Chris tells Eva all the time that she is ‘as cute as a button’ – a saying that I will never understand. I don’t really find them cute. In fact when I give it some thought, buttons really only serve a practical purpose in my life , but I guess thats a diatribe for another day.
We are old friends by now, so you now my feelings on titles. I just wanted something elegant and simple. Lucky Altenew has you covered for all your one line sentiments. Mine came from the Best Dad Stamp Set.
I used a splash of Altenew’s amazingly shiny Coral Berry and Ruby Red Spray Ink to carry on the mixed media feel from the watercolour paper and there you have it, another beautiful page for Eva’s album.
Hello, Altenew crafty friends. It’s Eunyoung here. Today I’ll be sharing a spring-feel scrapbook layout. I used lots of goodies from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection to create it.
I chose a rainbow patterned paper for most of the background. It has water-colored brush strockes, so the paper is perfect for a spring mood. I added it on the top of a white cardstock to create a light airy feel.
I cut a big blossom image from one of the papers in the Reflection Scrapbook Collection and I used it as an embellishment. Because there are a lot of pretty watercolor images in the patterned papers, you can use them by cutting them up like this. This way will give an accent on your scrapbooking or card making and make those papers stretch further.
I titled a date of photo under the photo using a puffy alphabet sticker. I stamped a message under a title and finished to splatter a black colored mist.
This is my full image. Can you feel the flowery spring is coming?? I love spring and to see flowers everywhere. I think this season is a magic! And I do love to add a flowery-spring feel to my layouts too! The goodies in the Reflection Scrapbook Collection make it so easy.
I hope you enjoy my scrapbooking and thank you for stopping by.
Hello, Altenew fans and welcome to the second Altenew Sketch challenge. The sketch and the color combination is based on one of my previous layouts which you can find here. Here is a look at the layout.
For the layout above I started by cutting out a heart. I then used a fun watercolor technique using the Altenew inks on some watercolor paper. I then stamped the flowers onto the paper and cut them out. You can see the process in the post here.
On my new layout, I thought it would nice to keep it simple so I really stayed very close to the sketch and color scheme. I drew a doodled circle and added my three clusters of flowers and my photo. Here is what I came up with.
I went with the same type of embellishments and added some gold touches with the gold glitter tape.
For leaves, I used the Freeform Greenery stamp set and Tropical Forest mini cube ink set. They break up the dominant red color in the flowers which I cut out of a patterned paper from the Reflection Scrapbook collection.
Tiny details like a stamp from the LABEL LOVE (FRENCH) stamp set and a couple of ink splatters with the Frayed Leaf Glimmer Metallic Shimmer Ink spray finish off the layout.
You can see how the layout came together on YouTube in HD or here below. I hope the old and new layout as well as the sketch inspire you.

Hi there Altenew fans! It’s Ashley, and I have a new layout to share with you today, using the Reflection Scrapbook Collection. I love using circles on my layouts. There’s just something about the contrast of a circle design with the 12×12 square card stock or patterned paper. Cut files are one of my favorite techniques with patterned paper, so I thought it would be fun to cut one of the papers from the Reflection Collection into a large, repeating circle design.
Once I had the circles cut, I added machine stitching to secure the paper to the layout, and for added texture. I wanted my photo at the center of the layout, so I printed a circle photo and cut it by hand with my scissors. Since I was going for a cleaner look on the layout, I decided to keep my title and embellishing toward the center of the circles. The wood buttons are my favorite embellishment from the collection, so I couldn’t resist adding a couple of them to the layout.
I finished embellishing with some of the chipboard pieces and the Reflection Collection die cut flowers. I love the White rosette flowers, and I wanted to keep one White, but add a pop of color to the second one. I glued it to the Yellow patterned paper from the collection and then trimmed away the excess paper. I also added dimension by adhering the second flower to the layout with pop dots.
I hope you’ve been inspired to give circles a try on your next layout or card! Basic shapes can create a wow factor on your project, when you get creative with them!
