Hello, friends! We are so thrilled to introduce our video guest for the month of November, Michelle Short! She is amazing with all sorts of different coloring mediums and she created an amazing card to share with you today. Let’s give her a warm welcome!

Hello there, Michelle here and I am delighted to be joining Altenew as their Video Guest Designer this month. I love Altenew stamps for their layering abilities but I also love them for watercolouring. I feel their style really lends them to a soft watercolour wash look. I started off by stamping the outline images in the Beautiful Day stamp set onto watercolour paper. This was then coloured using Altenew Inks, a paintbrush and some water. I love these inks for watercolouring as you can combine the shades to give depth to your colouring.

Once dry, the watercolour panel was added to a gray A2 card base with foam sheet to give some dimension. To finish off, I added a few Sparking Clear sequins.

As you can see, the card is really simple in design but I love how the design of the stamps, along with the watercolouring, give a soft sketchy look. Thank you for visiting the Altenew blog today and a big thank you goes to Altenew for having me guest with them.

Gorgeous, Michelle, I will be having a go at this, Beautiful Day is one of my favourite stamp sets and your video is so clear regarding the placing of the different shades, so thank you for that.
Would you please clarify what you mean by A2 as, to me (also in the UK), A2 is 4 times the size of A4 i.e. 420mm x 594mm. Thanks in advance

Oh my gosh, this card is so pretty! I love this stamp and the watercoloring that you did is spectacular. I love to paint and color and LuminArte makes the best watercolor around. I should know, I have a lot of their colors. I also rubber stamp on clothing so I am thinking this would look amazing on a tee shirt but since I can’t water color on fabric, then I would have to use my fabric paints. I’ll have to think about that the next time I do a shirt. I am going to watch this video for sure so I can see what you did. Great job.
