Get to know Tania!

Hi friends! My name is Tania Ahmed and I am a creative content maker, crafts tutor, and maker from the UK. I have been crafting almost all my life and I am grateful to be able to contribute to the crafts industry in my own little way. I produce creative content for magazines and craft manufacturers and teach at independent stores, craft shows, and local charities. I’m passionate about sharing the joy of creating! On my days at home, you will most often find me covered in glitter, glue, and paint while sharing a cup of tea with my cat.

Let’s take a look at Tania’s projects!

I am so thrilled to be guest designing for Altenew which is a dream come true for me! I have been a huge fan of the company and its beautiful products since the very first day they launched.

Today I am using the Flurries of Thanks Creativity Kit, which I fell in love with because of its combination of motivational quotes stamp set perfect for New Year’s resolutions, and gorgeous and very versatile die sets. Unfortunately, this Creativity Kit is currently out of stock BUT make sure you subscribe to Altenew’s “in-stock alert notification” so you’ll be the first to know when it’s available again.

Even though the set comes with inspirational ideas for cards, I decided to create my own design inspired by stationery brands and bold graphic designs. I love bright colours and seeing how grey the weather has been recently here in the UK, I thought it was fitting to bring a little creative brightness into my little craft room with my card.

How-to Video

Here’s a video tutorial on how I made the finished 6″ x 6” card. You can watch it below or on Altenew’s YouTube channel.

I’ve used coloured cardstocks selected from my stash and chose shades of each colour family for each layer of the die-cuts.

I loved how once I had die cut the flowers, assembling them did not take very long at all and was very easy to do. Here, I die cut and assembled two of each of the elements and roughly arranged them into a symmetrical design. This is my fool-proof method for when I want to make sure that a card design looks balanced and cohesive!

I hope that you enjoyed my project! Thank you so much for taking the time to have a peek at my video! Have a fabulously creative day!

Hugs,
Tania
