Creative Coloring with Erum: Coloring with Artist Markers

by Erum Tasneem

Hi everyone! Erum here with a new card featuring the Precious Peony Stamp Set colored with Altenew’s Artist Markers.

Altenew Precious Peony Stamp and Mid Century Frame Die | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

I started by stamping the image from Precious Peony Stamp Set onto Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock in Permanent Black Ink. Next, I used Shades of Purple set of Artist Markers to color the flowers. Starting from dark to light, Midnight Violet, Deep Iris, Lavender Fields, and Soft Lilac.

For the leaves, I used the Tropical Forest Set which includes Moss, Olive, Parrot,  and Bamboo.

I used the coordinating die to die cut it and then set it aside.

Next, I added ink onto a panel of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock through the Grid Stencil using a blending brush and Limestone Crisp Dye Ink. Because my blending brush was dirty, maybe I used a pink ink previously, I ended up with a pinkish background.

I added black splatters to my panel and then adhered Mid-Century Frame Die and adhered the floral image with foam tape. Then I adhered the sentiment too.

To finish, I added a few gems.

Beautiful. I love how the stencil matches the colour of the flowers and how it gives it a subtle background that enhances the focal image of the flowers. I love coming to this blog every morning. Such amazing inspiration and puts a smile on face for the rest of the day. If I didn’t have to go to work, I would stay home and copy every card on this blog post!

Gorgeous flower and card! The happy accident with the blender brush turned out to be a great addition to the card. Enjoy the music you play in your videos.

Beautiful card and while you might not have intended to have the pink in it, it turned out quite lovely! And I don’t think any of us would have known, your probably could have just passed it off like you meant to! But thanks for sharing your ‘error’ with us. Happens to us all!
