Hello, Altenew friends! Welcome to our March 2020 Guest Designer post! It’s such a pleasure to have the incredibly talented TaeEun Yoo as our guest designer once again! If you have no idea who she is, you might be living under a rock! Kidding aside, TaeEun has been a regular guest in our release blog hops and she has been our guest designer here on the blog last July 2019! Now if that doesn’t say how much we LOVE this lady’s creative work, then we don’t know what will. Feel free to check out her blog and have a quick look through her Instagram feed.

Get to know TaeEun!

Hi, friends!!! I’m TaeEun from Rainbow in November! As I came across card making videos for the first time in 2015, I immediately fell in love and since then I’ve been enjoying my hobby and loving the paper crafting community. I’m addicted to coloring floral images using various mediums. Playing with Altenew’s beautiful flower stamps is one of the best parts of my card making journey!

Let’s take a look at TaeEun’s projects!

I’m so excited to be guest designing on the Altenew Card Blog this month! Today, I’m showcasing the Forever Floral Creativity Kit which includes Forever and Always Stamp & Die Bundle, Fine Alphabet Die Set, Floral Mandala Stencil, and an Inspiration Guide.

I’ve made four cards using the items included in the kit. Here, I tried to use the Floral Mandala Stencil in four different ways while keeping the color scheme of the cards the same.

Card 1: Watercolored Floral Cluster (Stenciling with Glitter Paste)

To make my first card, I started off by gold heat embossing the beautiful floral clusters from the Forever and Always Stamp Set. I colored the flowers in Sunkissed and Rubellite Watercolor Brush Markers and a bit of Cotton Candy from Watercolor 36 Pan Set. To color the leaves, I used Lime Watercolor Brush Marker and Forest Glades, Bamboo, Paper Bag and Mocha from the Watercolor 36 Pan Set. After the coloring was completed, I cut the images using the coordinating dies and set them aside. I finished several floral clusters in the same way and used them also for my third card below.

To create the background, I did some watercolor wash on a watercolor paper panel in Sunkissed and Paper Bag from the Tropical Fiesta Watercolor Brush Markers Set. After the panel was dry, I splattered the Paper Bag ink on the panel and let it dry again. Next, I applied clear glitter paste on the background panel through the Floral Mandala Stencil

The background panel was foam mounted on a Kraft card base and then a floral cluster from the Forever and Always Stamp Set was added to the card using some foam adhesives. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set. I heat embossed it in Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder on a strip of dark brown cardstock and adhered it on the card.

Card 2: Floral Mandala Background (Ink Blending with Stencil)

On the second card, I kept the main image simple. I stamped a floral cluster from the Forever and Always Stamp Set on white cardstock in Limestone ink and colored it using Altenew’s Artist Markers. I used very light colors; Frosty Pink, Blush, Buttercream, Sunkissed, and Rocky Shore and blended them with the Colorless Blender. After the coloring was done. I heat embossed the image in gold, cut it using the coordinating die and set it aside.

To create the background, I ink blended Orange Cream, Fresh Lemon, and brown ink on a white cardstock panel. I sprayed clear water on the back of the Floral Mandala Stencil and pressed it on the ink blended panel and dabbed the panel with a paper towel to lift the ink colors. Then I placed the stencil again on the background panel and ink blended over it in the same colors as before. White ink splatters were added to the panel before it was foam mounted on a cream card base.

The floral cluster and the sentiment strip were adhered to it using some foam tapes. Some orange dew drops were my finishing touch for my card.

Card 3: Floral Cluster Frame (Ombre Ink Blending with Stencil)

For this card, I used the floral clusters I already finished as I prepared the first card.

The background was created by simple stenciling using brown ink and the Floral Mandala Stencil on a dark brown card base. I did the ink blending in an ombre fashion making it brighter towards the center of the front of the card base. Then, I sprayed pearlized water (clear water mixed with pearl pigment) on it and let it dry.

To assemble the card, I placed the floral clusters on the card base as shown in the picture adding them using foam adhesives for some dimension. I then cut off the excessive area.

I cut the letters from some gold cardstock using Fine Alphabet Die Set add added it to the card using foam tapes. The thin sentiment from Forever and Always Stamp Set was stamped in Mocha Crisp Dye Ink on a strip of Kraft cardstock. I finished off the card by scattering some brown rhinestones.

Card 4: 3D Floral Cluster with Stenciled Pieces

The last card was an experimental trial for me. I had the leftover flowers after I finished the third card and wanted to use them up. So I made a 3D flower using the stenciled pieces and embellished it with the leftover floral clusters.

First, I stenciled the Floral Mandala four times in Fresh Lemon, Sunkissed and Orange Cream and cut them out to make the 3D flower as shown in the picture. I chose a yellow card base and stacked the mandala flowers on it using some foam tape. Then I tucked two floral clusters between the layers. The sentiment “HI” was cut using the Fine Alphabet Die Set from some dark brown cardstock. Three dark brown enamel dots were my finishing touch for this card.

That’s it from my side for today! I hope I was able to inspire you with my cards and show you some ways to use the beautiful Forever Floral Creativity Kit. FYI, you can get this kit today at 20% off!

Huge thanks to Altenew for having me as a guest designer today. Thanks to you all, crafty friends, for looking!
