Easy Two Layer Shaker Card

by Svitlana Shayevich

Hi friends!

Svitlana is here. Today I want to share an idea for an easy two layer shaker card. Shakers can be a bit more time consuming and even intimidating than regular cards. At least they always intimidate me. I can spend in fact more time working on a card with complex masking or another time consuming technique, but still shakers for me seem much more difficult.

In the card I’m sharing today though I used one tool that helped me to divide the time spend on a shaker twice. And this tool is the Dog Rose Panel Dies.  After die-cutting these two panels almost all elements of the card were already done (boom!).

I die cut the top Dog Rose A Panel out of a white cardstock panel and the Dog Rose B Panel out of a light teal cardstock panel.  Then I inserted the die cut panels into the cardstock pieces they were cut out of and taped them together with sided tape on the back.

After that I adhered piece of acetate on the back of the white panel and on the front and back of the teal one (so the shaker fillers only would contact with slick acetate, versus details of die-cut.

Next I foam mounted the white panel onto the teal one placing some shaker filler inside. For the filler I choose white and teal sequins and seed beads.

Then I foam mounted this top layer of the shaker onto a dark teal cardstock, also placing some shaker filler inside.

Lastly I white embossed a sentiment from the Birthday Greetings Stamp Set onto a Jet Black Cardstock strip and popped it up onto the card.

Thanks to this wonderful die bundle I was able to easily create an interesting two layer shaker with very little effort.

Have a wonderful day!
