How-to Video: Simple Floral Cards | Take 2 with Therese

by Therese Calvird

Hi, it’s Therese and I am back with another edition of Take 2 with Therese.

Today, I created two simple floral cards using the Vase Fillers Stamp Set.

Altenew - Vase Fillers - Crystal Frames - Take 2 With Therese (card video) 2 copy

First, I stamped the images onto Spicy Yogurt Cardstock and then I decided to do some simple shading on the silhouette flowers using Altenew’s Watercolor Brush Markers.

I heat-embossed the sentiment from the Crystal Frames Stamp Set with Antique Gold Crisp Embossing Powder.

Then I cut a frame with the Nesting Frames Die Set.

My second card design is very similar except that I stamped the images onto white cardstock and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

I splattered the background with Antique Gold Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray.

The frame is from the Crystal Frames Die Set and the sentiment was stamped on Midnight Violet Cardstock and is from the Flower Vine Stamp Set.

I love both of these and what a smart way to get more from silhouette stamps, plus create more of a water color look. Thanks for the inspiration and I’m going to try this technique soon!

I love the versatility of a silhouette stamp but often it’s because I love to colour that they are forgotten lol.

actually this is one of my older photos… I think it’s comes up with the login that I have for Altenew… wouldn’t it be nice to reverse age (although not too young of course lol).

Beautiful cards! I am a person that likes bold colors, however your use of subtle color shows me how amazing a card can be. Thank you for a great video

Yes, I am normally a bold colour girl myself although somehow even some pastels have slipped in there recently… I don’t know how that happened lol.

Gorgeous cards, Therese. You always inspire me to step outside my comfort zone and try something new to me. As for the choice of sentiments, I love the small sentiments. In my opinion, you made the right choice.
