Three Ideas for Simple Bird Themed Christmas Cards

by Svitlana Shayevich

Hello friends,

Svitlana is here today. Cardinal is one of classic Christmas symbols and a good cardinal stamp set is an essential in a cardmaker stash (if you ask me –  there never can be enough cardinal stamp sets :)). Today I want to share three ideas of holiday cards featuring the recently released Season’s Tweetings Stamp Set.

For my first card I placed one cardinal onto a berry wreath.

The wreath I made using the Leafy Wreath Die, which I die cut out of white and green and then adhered one on top of another. I also placed the wreath center negative die cut inside.

After that I made a Parchment card base, added the Pure White Ink Spray splatters and popped the wreath on top.

Then I stamped and die cut several berries from the Season’s Tweetings and adhered them onto the wreath. Followed by adhering a stamped cardinal on top. The cardinal was stamped using the Ruby Red, Velvet and Jet Black Dye Inks.

Lastly I white embossed a sentiment in the bottom part of the card.

For my next card I made a soft snowy background using the Layered Snowflakes Die Set. I used this set to die cut snowflake masks out of a masking paper, applied them onto a white panel and blended the Sea Breeze Dye Ink on top. I only added the blending in the top part of the panel.

Next i stamped the sentiment in the bottom part of the panel. After that I removed the masks and added the Pure White Ink Spray splatters onto it. After that it was foam mounted onto a white card base.

Next I stamped the cardinal, a branch and berries and popped them all up onto the card.

I added a white gel pen “snow” onto the branch and berries to finish off the card.

As much as I love the very Christmas-y looking cardinal male we shouldn’t leave behind a female :) On my third card I made it by stamping with Sunkissed, Orange Cream and Jet Black Dye Ink.

I also made a branch, berries and adhered them along with the cardinals onto a Woodgrain Powder Cardstock panel. Then I tied a baking twine around and foam mounted the panel onto a white card base.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment in the Ruby Red Dye Ink in the bottom part of the card.

I hope you find these ideas helpful. Aren’t those birdies the cutest?

Have a wonderful day!
